Ronnie Simmons

Ronnie Simmons is a recent graduate of University at Buffalo, where he majored in American Studies and minored in English. American Studies is a social science disclipine that puts the culture of marginalized peoples of the Americas at its forefront (victims of racism, classism, sexism, etc.) Since graduating, Ronnie has been taking positions with nonprofit organizations that have a forward thinking approach to social change - a category that ARTE falls into. Ronnie plans to learn more about the inner workings of nonprofit organizations to eventually move into a position in nonprofit management. Ronnie's role includes designing and updating the organization's website and controlling the social media accounts.

Ronnie’s favorite art piece is by Australian street artist Meek including the tagline, "Keep your coins. I want change." This Banksy-esque piece captures the way people think about homelessness, but also on a larger scale the mindset of people that work for entities like nonprofit organizations that are willing to sacrifice monetary gain to have an impact on the world.
