Iona Tan

 

A recent graduate of NYU, Iona is interested in how we can utilize media & communication to educate, empower, and advocate for ourselves and our communities. She lives and breathes social media but makes time to explore the city and visit museums- the Whitney being her favorite. With ARTE Iona seeks to spread awareness through communication channels, as well as get the creative juices flowing with the artistic processes intrinsic to ARTE programs.

Currently, Iona's favorite artist is MissMe. Native to Montreal, the anonymous street artist uses wheatpaste to create messages of women empowerment and resistance to a patriarchical and unequal social system.
