Anthony Shimek

 

Anthony has a background in philanthropy and volunteerism in both the private and nonprofit spaces. He has had a passion for supporting communities and uplifting others that was fostered as a child and continued with his studies in international relations /peace and justice studies. Anthony has worked with The LGBT Community Center, Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC), Services & Advocacy for LGBT Elders (SAGE), and The Moody’s Foundation to support communities across the city in a variety of ways.  He also has a passion for textile art and recently opened his own. He is excited to explore ways that textiles and craft can strengthen and build community as well as be a voice of activism.
